YABATECH Ignites AI Revolution with Massive Training on Ethical Tech Use

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has taken a bold leap into the future of education, bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to the forefront of its academic landscape. Over 300 staff, students, and alumni convened for a high-impact, one-day intensive training focused on the responsible use of AI technologies.

The programme, held in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Lagos, spotlighted both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with AI adoption. Participants engaged in sessions covering ethical AI deployment, decision-making frameworks, cybersecurity, and data privacy key areas shaping the future of work and innovation.

Addressing attendees, Rector Dr Ibraheem Abdul emphasized the institution’s dedication to digital transformation and global partnerships. He noted that YABATECH is committed to equipping its graduates with cutting-edge tech skills while instilling strong values of integrity and social responsibility.

Adding a global perspective, guest speaker Omoju Miller, Chief Executive of FIMIO, urged participants to go beyond merely consuming foreign technologies. She encouraged them to become creators and innovators, actively contributing to the global AI ecosystem.
