JAMB Extends Admission Deadline for Candidates Offered Admission Since 2021

Share

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates who were offered admission from 2021 to 2026 to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.

The Board announced that the new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026, replacing the earlier deadline of Monday, August 31, 2026.

The extension gives affected candidates additional time to take action on pending admission offers on the JAMB platform.

What Happens After You Accept or Reject?

JAMB explained that candidates who accept their admission offers will be able to print their admission letters.

Candidates who choose to reject the offers will have their admission status reverted to ā€œNot Admittedā€ on their JAMB dashboards.

The Board also clarified that candidates who have already secured admission in the 2026 admission exercise, but still have an earlier admission offer pending, can reject the previous offer without affecting their new admission.

Similarly, candidates who are currently studying at another institution or in a different programme from the one attached to their previous admission may accept the outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion, where applicable.

September 30 Is the Final Deadline

JAMB warned that the extended deadline is final, stressing that there will be no further opportunity after September 30, 2026.

According to the Board, any outstanding admission offer that is neither accepted nor rejected before the deadline will automatically be reverted to ā€œNot Admitted.ā€

JAMB urged all affected candidates to log into their dashboards and take the necessary action before the deadline.

Candidates who fail to accept their admission offers within the stipulated period risk losing the admission opportunity.

Deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Affected candidates are advised not to wait until the final day before taking action.
