Alert Microfinance Bank, a subsidiary of Alert Group, has provided educational materials to 100 pupils across two schools in Lagos State as part of its Back-to-School Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The intervention is aimed at helping parents reduce the financial burden associated with preparing their children for the new academic session, particularly amid rising living costs.
The beneficiaries are pupils of IPHY Kiddies School, Ebute-Metta, and Rock of Ages School, Ikorodu, who received customised educational packages containing school bags, exercise books, writing materials, mathematical sets and water bottles.
Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alert Microfinance Bank, Raji Saheed, said the bank’s responsibility extends beyond providing financial services.
According to him, the communities and businesses served by the bank are important partners in its growth, making it necessary for the institution to contribute positively to their development.
“At Alert, we believe that our responsibility goes beyond providing financial solutions,” Saheed said.
He added that the bank remains committed to creating opportunities that improve the lives of people within the communities where it operates.
‘Education Is an Investment in the Future’
The Chief Marketing Officer of Alert Group, Kayode Abraham, highlighted the importance of education to the development of society.
Abraham said providing children with basic learning materials could help them return to school with greater confidence while offering parents some financial relief.

He explained that the initiative reflects the company’s approach of turning its relationships with customers and communities into tangible social impact.
The initiative is captured under the bank’s philosophy: “Bank with Us, Grow with Us, Give Back Together.”
