The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online system that allows candidates seeking admission through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results remotely.
The new system, which initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is expected to reduce candidates’ reliance on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, particularly during periods of heavy patronage.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with examination bodies before uploading the verified results to their profiles.
The Board said the initiative was designed to make the process faster, safer, easier and more convenient, while reducing queues, paperwork and challenges associated with manual uploads.
According to JAMB, the digital verification process will also help address issues such as misplaced certificates, incorrect subject or grade entries, and the submission of unverified or fraudulent results.
The integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies means candidates’ results can now be checked against official records before being uploaded to their JAMB profiles.
The Board said the development is part of its renewed customer-focused service delivery agenda under its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, with technology being deployed to minimise unnecessary physical visits to CBT centres.
How candidates can verify and upload their results
JAMB said candidates must first obtain a Result Verification Code through the designated result verification portal.
Applicants are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), number of O’Level sittings, examination body, email address and GSM number, before making payment through the approved payment gateway.
After payment, candidates will provide their examination details, including examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the result is successfully verified, a Verification Code will be issued.
Candidates will then send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
JAMB said the verified result will subsequently be uploaded, with candidates receiving a notification confirming the process.
Candidates with two O’Level sittings are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
After entering the Verification Code, the verified results will be displayed, allowing candidates to select the required subjects.
JAMB said candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”
A confirmation notification will be sent once the upload is successfully completed.
The Board said the new system would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres experience long queues, heavy patronage or network-related challenges.
JAMB added that it would continue to collaborate with examination bodies and other government agencies to expand digital services and simplify admission-related processes.
The development represents another step in JAMB’s digital transformation, allowing candidates to complete an important admission requirement without necessarily visiting a CBT centre.
