The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the sale of application forms for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) admission exercise to May 8.

The board made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

According to Benjamin, the extension was approved to ensure that all qualified candidates have the opportunity to access tertiary education without being left out of the admission process.

He explained that the new deadline replaces the earlier closing date previously announced for the exercise.

To reduce congestion and make registration easier in areas with high demand, JAMB also approved five additional registration centres across the country.

The newly approved centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Mini Campus, University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Bells University of Technology; and Olabisi Onabanjo University Centre 1, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

Others are the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo State, and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House), No. 2 Iwaya, Sabo, opposite Onike Girls Junior High School, Onike, Lagos.

Benjamin encouraged prospective candidates to make good use of the extension and complete their registration before the new deadline.

He also stated that JAMB offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) and Professional Testing Centres (PTCs), remain open to assist candidates with the registration process.
