In a landmark moment for regional cooperation, the Government of China has officially sponsored, constructed, and handed over the new headquarters of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Abuja.
The state-of-the-art complex, delivered under the China-Aid program and equipped with advanced technology, represents a significant step forward in strengthening institutional capacity and regional integration across West Africa. The official handover ceremony, held on April 28, 2026, brought together high-level representatives from the Nigerian government, senior officials from China, and members of the ECOWAS Commission.
