Tinubu Replaces Finance Minister, Appoints Taiwo Oyedele

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has relieved Wale Edun of his duties as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance.

Oyedele, a prominent tax and fiscal policy expert, particularly in areas of revenue generation and tax administration.

Until his latest elevation, Oyedele has been serving as Minister of State for Finance and, crucially, as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, a role he has held since 2023 under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
