The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mike Dio Jen, gave the assurance during a visit by the NBTE resource verification team, stating that Governor Agbu Kefas is implementing wide-ranging reforms to revitalise the education sector. He noted that, with the governor’s full support, all requirements for the accreditation of 29 academic programmes have been met.

Rector of the State Polytechnic, Dr Amos Agbu, praised Governor Kefas for his consistent backing of the institution and expressed confidence that the polytechnic would successfully pass the accreditation. He reiterated the institution’s focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education to secure the future of Taraba youths.

NBTE team leader, Hajiya Fatima Kabiru Umar, alongside the North-East Zonal Director, Abba Mohammad Danmowa, commended the state government for prioritising education. Umar disclosed that the accreditation process has gone fully digital in line with global standards and lauded the polytechnic’s management for aligning with NBTE guidelines, which she said has helped improve student enrolment.

She also praised Governor Kefas for providing funds for the exercise and strengthening the institution’s infrastructure, describing the efforts as key to sustainable educational development in the state.
