The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has identified three major reasons candidates may not find their names on the matriculation list, urging affected students to take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
The board disclosed this in an explainer video shared on its official X handle on Friday, noting that the first reason was the most common, while the third was the most important.
According to JAMB, one of the major reasons is a candidate’s failure to accept an admission offer on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) or having an admission status that still reads “not admitted.”
The board advised candidates whose admission status shows “not admitted” to return to their respective institutions and ensure that their admission is properly processed.
“Number one is the most common, while number three is the most important. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS or your admission status reads not admitted,” JAMB stated.
Another reason, according to the board, is that the candidate’s institution may have failed to forward verified matriculation details to JAMB.
The board urged candidates affected by this issue to contact their institution’s admission office and ensure that their admission details are properly processed and forwarded through CAPS.
The third reason identified by JAMB is failure to print the JAMB original result slip and admission letter.
The board advised candidates who have not printed the required documents to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre to obtain them.
“You have not printed your JAMB original results slip and admission letter,” the board said.
JAMB encouraged candidates to carefully check their admission status, complete all required admission processes and obtain the necessary documents to avoid problems with their matriculation status.
The board also advised candidates to follow its official social media platforms for further updates and guidance on admission and matriculation matters.
