BREAKING: Tinubu Orders Arrest, Suspends Three Perm Secs Over Alleged Fake Agency in SGF’s Office

Share

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze following the discovery of an alleged fake government agency operating from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) uncovered what it described as a purported fake agency known as the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office within the SGF’s office.

ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, disclosed the development on Friday while briefing State House correspondents after meeting with President Tinubu.

According to Aliyu, the discovery was made during an ongoing investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, reportedly operated by Adeyemi Matthew.

He explained that office space had allegedly been allocated to the purported agency within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Following the development, President Tinubu also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries — M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P. Pheelangwah — over their alleged connection to the incident.

The latest development comes amid an ongoing investigation by the ICPC into the activities of individuals and entities allegedly operating under the guise of government agencies.
