Viral Forest Video Triggers Security Alert as Lagos Police Move to Fortify Pan-Atlantic University

The Lagos State Police Command has stepped up security measures at Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki, following the circulation of a viral video showing two masked individuals emerging from a forest area near the institution.

In response to growing concerns, the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, led a team of operational personnel on an on-the-spot security assessment of the university to evaluate potential threats and strengthen safety measures.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the visit was aimed at proactively addressing security concerns and reassuring students, staff, and parents of their safety.

During the assessment, the Commissioner met with the university’s management and emphasized the need to reinforce the institution’s security framework. He advised the school to adopt stronger preventive measures, including improved perimeter fencing, enhanced access control systems, and closer collaboration with security agencies.

CP Fatai also cautioned against actions that could compromise existing security efforts, stressing the importance of maintaining vigilance and internal cooperation.

As part of efforts to improve surveillance around the university, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, with support from the Lagos State Government, has deployed surveillance drones to monitor the area. The drones are expected to enhance aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and crime prevention activities within and around the institution.

The police chief reassured stakeholders of the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, noting that proactive security measures remain a top priority across Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its resolve to maintain peace and public safety while urging residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with timely and credible information.

Authorities say investigations and security monitoring around the university will continue as part of ongoing efforts to prevent any security breaches.
