2026 Academic Staff Training and Development Grants: Call for Applications

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commenced the Academic Staff Training and Development (AST&D) sponsorship programme for academic staff in selected Nigerian universities to pursue higher degrees at Masters and Doctoral levels. Potential beneficiaries include those in academic, technical, and technological fields.

Academic staff of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) without Masters and PhDs in their area of focus are enjoined to take advantage of this opportunity by submitting the application for sponsorship and the following documents:

  1. Letter of admission for a higher degree programme
  2. Details of Supervisors and Projects to be undertaken
  3. Complete schedule of fees (covering tuition, accommodation, feeding, laboratory costs, etc.)
  4. Letter of appointment as a staff in the University of Lagos
  5. Two (2) copies of duly completed Bond Forms
  6. Duly completed TETFund AST&D Nomination Form
  7. Recent Curriculum Vitae (CV) including email address and telephone number(s)
  8. Photocopies of all academic credentials
  9. Report of medical fitness obtained from a government hospital

All applications should be addressed to the Vice-Chancellor through the Director, Academic Planning, UNILAG.

Please note that:

  • The fund cannot be used for a second Master or PhD.
  • The fund/grant is tenable for staff of the University of Lagos in other institutions in Nigeria and cannot be used in the University of Lagos.
