The Federal Government has reaffirmed its readiness to partner with state governments to guarantee quality education for every Nigerian child.
In a statement issued Sunday by the Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa said stronger collaboration between federal and state authorities is key to reducing the number of out-of-school children across the country.
The minister praised the Committee of States’ Commissioners of Education in Nigeria for hosting its maiden peer-learning webinar, describing the initiative as timely and consistent with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the ministry’s mandate to expand access to quality education.
According to him, solving the out-of-school children challenge requires coordinated reforms, shared responsibility, and evidence-based policies at all levels of government. He also noted the critical role of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education in supporting targeted educational programmes.
Alausa stressed the need for harmonised implementation strategies, data-driven planning, and continuous knowledge exchange to improve interventions at the state level.
The webinar is expected to feature presentations from Gombe State and the commission, offering practical insights and a national policy perspective.
He concluded that the Federal Government remains committed to working closely with states to ensure inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education for all Nigerian children.
